FREE Open Assessment Ride Days

If you would like to see what PECAM can offer, then please come along to one of our free Open Assessment days. We hold these events throughout the spring and summer in collaboration with main motorcycle Dealers often as part of their Open Days. Have a look at our Events page to see the available dates. Or if you can’t wait, contact us at [email protected]; we can usually accommodate you. These events are free to attend but have limited spaces and do fill quickly so please book early to avoid disappointment.

The assessment is in no way judgemental, or intended to mark you out as a good or bad rider (no such thing as a bad motorcycle rider in our book, just good ones and better ones!). It is designed to give you a taste of the Advanced Riding techniques we employ and coach, as part of the IAM Advanced Rider course, that incidentally are the same has those taught to police and other emergency services motorcycle riders, and perhaps make you think that Advanced Riding might be of some value to you. It is not a race we’ll not be setting off with anything to prove, and if you disappear off over the horizon, well, that is up to you, but you’ll be on your own. We save that for track days!

For your free assessment you will be followed and watched by one of our trained observers as you ride in normal, everyday situations. We will ask you to ride along a given route, your Observer will fully brief you before you leave. The Observer will follow you, and observe your riding style; at some point the Observer will take the lead, and provide a short demonstration of advanced riding, on completion of the demonstration they will wave you forward to continue. At the end of the ride, your Observer will offer some views on how your riding could be different if you followed Advanced Riding techniques.

We hope that you will find the comments from your Observer helpful, and perhaps you may think about joining PECAM, to take advantage of all that we offer. If, on the other hand, you don’t agree with what we say, well, we hope that we have at least made you think about the way you ride, and you have been out riding your bike for half an hour! What’s not to like?

In addition, we can often offer a discount to those who sign up on the day, which can considerably reduce the full price of the IAM Advanced Rider course.
